Teeth Protection

This morning was accompanying my friend to see a dentist…to extract a decay tooth…argh…it’s so painful. He shouted till the walls fall down, lol. Prevention is better than cure friends, lets see 6 tips that how to protect your teeth.

Brushing Technique:
Brush your teeth for a minimum duration of at least three minutes daily per session. During brushing, the position of the tooth brush head should be at an angle of forty five degrees towards your gum line. Gently move the brush in forward and backward strokes and let the strokes be short.

Consume foods that will not damage your teeth:
Do not eat pop corn kernels or ice cubes. These can cause severe damage to your teeth. Most carbonated drinks erode your teeth enamel. Other drinks like coffee and tea stain your teeth. When you are taking drinks that are likely to stain your teeth, then do not have them too hot or too cold.

Flossing:
Flossing your teeth is quite necessary as this will increase the longevity of the teeth life and the health of the gums. Flossing removes food particles and bits that are trapped under the gums.

Use your teeth for what they are intended for:
It is found that most people use their teeth for a different kind of activities. This includes using the teeth as a tool and sometimes as a can opener.

Avoid clinching or grinding teeth:
The amount of pressure that can be exerted by one’s jaw is tremendous. If this is done against bone to bone or teeth to teeth it can cause sever permanent damage? Don’t express anger in ways like this. It will cause more harm than release of tension.

Visit the dentist regularly:
Make it a habit to visit your dentist once every six months. He can guide you and tell you about the status of your teeth and can do some professional cleaning once in a while.
