Earth Hour

Earth Hour is here again, at 8.30 PM, 26 March 2011 lights go off to celebrate a global commitment to protect our planet. Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour.  Earth Hour was first held in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights. Following Sydney's lead, many other cities around the world adopted the event in the following years.
The main goal of Earth Hour is to create awareness on the climate change issues. Individual mere act on a mass scale could make tremendous changes to a better future. However, there’s not that much energy reductions can be achieved within that one hour in once a year. Just an hour is not going to sustain the benefit to the earth, we should do more than that.

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

Sincere Blessing

Couldn’t imagine how sorrow that the people in Japan facing now, not only earthquake and tsunami, but now the nuclear threat. Earthquakes are a fact of life in Japan, but they are all tough and well prepared at all times.

Read a blog from a Malaysian reporter who is staying in Tokyo. Trains are out of service currently, everyone is walking on the road, but still they are following the traffic light, stop when the red light showing. Never heard of robbery case during this hard time, although peoples are eager on food and drinks, they are all in queue to pay for their stuff. Restaurants offering foods and drinks FOC, everybody helping each other to minimize the bad impact. This is what we all have to learn from Japan, the fundamental moralities of life.

Watching the earthquake and tsunami tragedy in Japan should help us all realize how small human being truly are. And it makes me realize more how much we all need to be thankful for each day. Life is so fragile, therefore, live it like it’s your last day. Cherish your days, and cherish your love ones.

Veggie

Boost your health, start today. Eating habit is the main key to access door of good health, many people work hard but do not insist most of the time. Maintain good diet that incorporates the right foods is the main point. I’m would like to start mine by today. See, eventually I’ve prepared a table of veggie…ehm…looks oily??? Oily means unhealthy…sigh…

The vegetarian way of eating can be creative and delicious. Should get some ideas from internet and search for recipe before cook. People suggest that fresh vegetable is the clue and must not over cook them. And mummy says grilled vegetables are uniquely delicious, for instance corn, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms and so on.

People decide to become a vegetarian for various different reasons. Influence by others, for environmental issue, animal rights, health etc. Deciding to become vegetarian is your personal decision, to be and not to be? Maybe do a trial first, twice a week…ok, deal!

Barbie Day

I'm a Barbie girl in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
The day of 52 years ago, on March 9th 1959, the first Barbie doll went on display at the American Toy Fair in New York City. Over the years, Barbie generated huge sales. This eleven inches tall, with a waterfall of blond hair doll was the first mass-produced toy doll in US with adult features.
You know how the idea come from? Ruth Handler, the inventor of Barbie, after seeing her young daughter ignore her baby dolls and play with paper dolls of adult women, she realized there was an important niche in the market for a toy that allowed little girls to imagine the future.
For many years, Barbie dolls were considered a healthy role model for girls, she has had a series of different jobs, from doctor, stewardess, Olympic athlete and even U.S. presidential candidate. However, the never-ending supply of stuff seems like encouraging kids to be materialistic.
Though Barbie brings some bad impact, but this is not the genuine idea of it. She is just a doll, and nothing underneath. I believe that a parental influence is much stronger.

Lifetime Reading

“Get over the idea that only children should spend their time in study. Be a student so long as you still have something to learn, and this will mean all your life.”
Henry L. Doherty Quotes

Looking for a friend in the early morning. The mini library in his house impressed me. Looked at the series of Doraemon, although I don’t watch nor read the comics anymore, however, I still remember the stories about him, and the lessons that learn through this comic.

Nobita is the center of the story, throughout his life, he faces lots of misfortune, but I do understand that many things come with reasons. He is usually portrayed as lazy, uncoordinated, unmotivated and frail. Anyhow he often risked his life to help and save others, this make him deserve to have Doraemon such a best buddy.

Although we are in the era of technology advancement, we don’t have Doraemon. In the real life, we gotta do everything by ourselves to reach our goals. Therefore, WORK HARD!!!

Goals DWD

Goals are dreams with deadlines. Even a deadline is negative inspiration, still, it's better than no inspiration at all. If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up.

These are few quotes that insipiring me in this early mornig. It's true...but what's my dream? I'll lost myself whenever people ask me on this. I know, it's never too old to set a goal because I'll fail at a 100% of the goals I don't set. People with goals succeed because they know what they want, decide, get started, take action, move.

Somebody fail in life not because of lack of ability or knowledge, simply because they have never think about their goal. Okok, my goal for today is think of my goal! Transform my dreams into plans, plans into reality!

Friend from Arctic

This is my friend Bearie.  ^^

He is flying around the world for International Save Bears Days propaganda. February 21st is International Save Bear Day, it was started by Abel Saenz, was asking for small donations to be made on this day to different organizations that help hears, for instance WSPA, Polar Bears International, Bornean Sun Bear Centre, World Wildlife funds Panda Bears International, Wild Aid etc.

Bearie told me a story. In Alaska, a polar beer mother went searching for food for herself and her one-year-old cub but food was nowhere to be found. Due to man-made global warming, the sea ice has melted away. The polar bear’s critical habitat is rapidly disappearing due to human activity.

In a desperate hunt for something to eat, the polar bear mother was forced to swim an incredible and unprecedented 427 miles over the course of nine straight days. When she returned, she had lost 107 pounds. Her baby was dead.

Heartbreaking……but it’s happening frequently nowadays. So mark down the date on your calendar to remind yourself, do something to help, at least not to be the destroyer.

Brand New Day

Hi, this is Perlie. this is a brand new day for me and could be for you as well. Let's have a good start with a great quote: "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and out". Therefore keep moving guys, even a small step will make a big difference!

I'm now on the way to meet a friend from Arctic. Any idea on how to go from Pavillion shopping mall to KLIA? People guide me to take monorail from Bukit Bintang station to KL Sentral, cost me only RM2.10. Then go into the KL Sentral building which situated opposite, take either bus/ taxi or KLIA transit (www.kliaekspres.com) to the airport.
Haha, sounds easy ^^ See ya...
